Life Coaching vs. Therapy

I had the same exact question about 8 months ago. Honestly, I thought Life Coaching was ridiculous. I was super judgemental. In my mind, there was no way somebody could be an expert in helping people in the mental/emotional/wellness space if they didn’t have letters after their name. I now realize how ignorant and naive I was in that assumption.

In a nutshell, a therapist explores the question “How did you get here?” while a coach will ask: “Where do you want to go?”

There is no right or wrong choice. Some questions for consideration might include:
* Are you struggling with strong or dysregulated emotions on a regular basis, or experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression? A therapist could be the place to start.
* Do you want support defining a goal, putting an action plan in place, and an accountability partner to help you achieve it? Coaching is the place to start.

What has your experience been with Therapy and/or Coaching? ⬇️
